Hadith:
From Abdullah bin Syaqiq, who said: “I said to Abu Zar: If I meet Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him), I shall ask him one question. Abu Zar asked: “What about?” Abdullah replied: “Have you ever seen Allah s.w.t.?” Abu Zar replied: “I have asked him that question and he said: “I only see the Light.”
Huraian Hadith:
Being able to enter heaven is very significant. However, the comfort of heaven does not compare to the opportunity to see Allah s.w.t. That would be the utmost joy and happiness. Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) himself promised this and he had mentioned that his ummah will be able to see Allah s.w.t. in the afterlife. With regard to seeing Allah s.w.t., there was a request by Prophet Musa to see Him: “And when Musa came at Allah s.w.t.’s appointed tryst (time), that is, the time in which Allah s.w.t. had promised to speak to him, and his Lord spoke with him, without any intermediary, with speech which he heard from all directions. Moses said, “My Lord! Show me, Yourself, he wished to see Allah s.w.t., that I may behold You! That I may gaze upon You.” Allah s.w.t. said, “You shall not see Me, that is to say, you do not have the power to see me, you will not be able to see me in the life of this world, O Moses, but behold the mountain, which is stronger than you are, and if it remains, stays fixed, in its place, then you shall see Me, that is, you shall remain fixed (able) to see Me, otherwise, you will not have the capacity (for it). And when his Lord revealed Himself, that is (when) He manifested of His Light the equivalent of half a nail of a little finger, as stated in one hadith (said by Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him), to the mountain He levelled it to the ground and Musa fell down senseless, having lost consciousness at the awesomeness of what he had seen. And when he awoke, he said, “Exalted are You! I have repented to You, and I am the first of the believers.” (al-A’raf: 143). Allah s.w.t. the Most Glorious and Almighty, there is no power of mankind without His blessing.
