Charity as A Way to Thank Allah
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said which means: “The upper hand is better than the lower hand (i.e. he who gives in charity is better than him who takes it). One should start giving first to his dependents. And the best object of charity is that which is given by a wealthy person (from the money which is left after his expenses). And whoever abstains from asking others for some financial help, Allah s.w.t will give him and save him from asking others, Allah will make him self-sufficient.

The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Our companions who have died have left (this world) without having enjoyed the pleasures of the world (in order to get a great full reward in the Hereafter) while we have amassed wealth exceeding our needs for which there is no place to keep except in the earth. Had the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) not prohibited us from longing for death, I would have prayed for it.”' Then we visited him again and he was building a wall. He said: “There is a reward in store for a Muslim in respect of everything on which he spends except for something he places in the earth (i.e., something exceeding our needs or essentials).”'

Yahya bin Qaza’ah conveyed to us, from Ibrahim bin Said, from az-Zuhri, from Hind binti Harith from Umm Salamah who said: “When Rasulullah (peace and blessings be upon him) gave the salaam, women stood up after the Prophet had completed his salaam and he sat at his place temporarily before he stood up again. He said: “We believed that wallahu a’alaam, it was to inform the women to withdraw before the men.”

From Abdullah bin Amr reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Zuhr starts from the gliding of the sun until the shadow of a person is at equal length with his height and until before ‘Asr; ‘Asr ends when the sunlight turns yellow (sunset); Maghrib ends when the redness in the western sky has disappeared. Isya’ ends until the middle of half the night. Subuh is from dawn until the sun rises.”

I did well to them but they are otherwise towards me, I am patient in facing their bad behaviour towards me but they regarded my actions as stupid.” Then Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “If it is true what you have said and it is as though you have fed them with hot ash, whereas you always seek help from Allah s.w.t. for as long as you are on the truth”.
