Virtues of Fasting on Assyura

Allah s.w.t. has granted us with countless blessings which include opportunities to perform ibadah with multiple rewards at certain times compared to the practices at normal times. For example, Allah s.w.t. glorifies Muharram and encourages us to fast during the month. Such opportunities may seem petty to those who are not aware of the advantages, but this is the value that sets true Muslims apart. In order to seek the pleasure of Allah to the fullest, one will not waste time and opportunity given because normally, only when people fall ill or busy that they realise their lack of preparation for the Hereafter. Therefore, let us respond with the hope that our taqwa to Allah the Almighty will be increased.
