The details of the five (5) programs that will take place throughout the Global Halal Summit 2024 (GHaS 2024) starting September 17-19 are as follows:

a.     Malaysia's Halal Golden Jubilee Celebration

The involvement of the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) in confirming the halal status of Islamic food products and consumer goods in this country began 50 years ago in 1974. With the theme "Halal Malaysia: 5 Decades Leading the World", the celebration of the Halal Golden Jubilee Malaysia will take place on 18 September 2024 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. This prestigious event will be inaugurated by the YAB Dato' Seri Anwar bin Ibrahim, The Prime Minister of Malaysia.

The celebration of the 50th anniversary of Halal Malaysia will also reflect JAKIM's maturity in managing Malaysia's halal certification by putting Malaysia on the right track with priorities set to foster the competitiveness of an inclusive halal industry as one of the strategies in the 12th Malaysia Plan (RMK12) to accelerate the development of high-impact industries. It is also a very significant celebration in raising the spirit of al-Falah and manifesting MADANI's economic aspirations to ensure Malaysia's ability as a world-recognized halal certification production centre.

b.     14th Halal Certification Body Convention (HCBC)

The Halal Certification Bodies Convention (HCBC) is a key platform dedicated to bringing together halal certification bodies from around the world. The convention serves as a forum for discussion on best practices, challenges, and advancements in halal certification, with the overarching aim of enhancing the consistency and quality of halal standards.

c.     3rd International Halal Technical Capacity Development Programme (IHTCDP)

The organization of IHTCDP received a favourable response since it was introduced in 2017 through the 8th Halal Certification Bodies Convention (HCBC). The International Halal Technical Capacity Development Program (IHTCDP) this year will concentrate on enhancing the competence of Sharia auditors, strengthening halal standards, and supporting the development of the halal slaughter industry.

By focusing on critical areas such as slaughterhouse schemes and import requirements, the program aims to provide comprehensive training and exposure, ensuring that international auditors are well-equipped to uphold JAKIM’s halal certification standards and contribute to the ongoing advancement of the halal sector.

d.     1st MABIMS Halal Summit 2024 & MABIMS Halal Technical Meeting 2024.

These programs will further enhance the summit's impact by bringing together representatives from Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore under the MABIMS framework. The meetings will focus on collaborative efforts to harmonize Halal standards, address regional challenges, and explore opportunities for mutual recognition and cooperation within the Halal industry. This adds another layer of significance to the summit, reinforcing its role as a crucial platform for shaping the future of the global Halal landscape.

3.    We hope that this event will have a profound positive impact by offering valuable information to all participants and visitors. Our aim is to successfully achieve our goals, missions, and visions for the betterment of the global community. JAKIM is dedicated to strengthening our role in advancing halal standards and initiatives in line with the principles of Malaysia Madani. We are committed to embracing increased responsibility and accountability as we continue our efforts, ensuring that our work contributes to inclusive and progressive development.
